What’s this?! A comic within a comic? AND it’s co-written by a cute pup!
It’s the work of Shannon O’Brien who is the creator of the excellent Adventures of Wendy and Lucy which you can read here. She’s managed to capture the tone of my work perfectly. Thanks Shannon 🙂
What would we look like in the past is something we’ve always wanted to know. Who doesn’t like a bit of time travel? Thanks to this great guest comic by Andrew Fraser we now know. Check out Andrew’s work here or on Twitter where he shares his versatile range of comics and topical cartoons.
Jon Esparza is our next guest artist. Jon is the creator of the lovable and inflatable Bubble Fox, which I believe is 5 this year as well. If you follow comics on Twitter you will most certainly have come across his fantastic work there. We’ve made many guest comics for each other over the years and a recurring theme has been to inflate each others’ characters. Oskar has always been left out of this until now. Now it’s his turn…
Here’s the first guest comic for my 5th anniversary courtesy of the fantastic Chris Grabowski of Poorly Drawn Thoughts. Go check his comic here but don’t arrange any playdates at his house. His son has swords and doesn’t seem afraid to use them.
It’s time for another guest comic and today’s it’s by South London’s finest punster Tom Nash aka. Tut & Groan. Although Tom might be right that some of his comics are not suitable for children, he does have a huge fan in my son (who only gets to see the ones I handpick!). So big that my son has produced his own guest comics for Tut & Groan over the last year. I am sure there are more on the way.
Thanks Tom – and please check out the brilliant Tut & Groan here: www.tutandgroan.com and on all social media platforms.Â
I thought that was it for guest comics this time around and then this beauty arrived in my inbox courtesy of the great TS Comics guys M&M. Not only have they managed to blend our two comics brilliantly, there is also a reference to an old favourite of mine Complaint Chief.
Thanks M&M! And please check out TS Comics while you are online!
This time the guest artist stays in the family. “Motherhood. Madly Doodled.” is by my talented wife, Alison, who is also the other person our son pings his thoughts off. Alison has illustrated a couple of books and has her own art journal/site where she shares her process and illustrations. Well worth a read everyone!
Today’s guest comic is brought to you by man of many talents – Jon Esparza, who is the busy creator of several comics over at his Crazyverse (Mike and Mindy, Peppertown and Bubblefox). They are all available on his site so go check them out when you have a minute! Just click here
Jon is also incredibly supportive of other peoples’ webcomics on Twitter and one of the first people ever to retweet my comic, which I am eternally grateful for.
Thanks for the support Jon and thanks for the great guest comic which is a sequel to one I made for him a while back! You can see that one here
Here’s the first ever guest comic by an actual squirrel. “Squirrelhood. Badly Doodled.” sounds like it could become a successful spin-off along the lines of Frasier or….some other successful TV spin-off.
